Baby Party!!!

Life is full of moments that you never want to forget and that is why I blog and journal because I want to remember those feelings forever. Last week was definitely one of those moments. Elise and Mom threw me the most beautiful baby shower. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and what it meant to me. Thanks to Lindsey for coming down for it too. :)

Baby showers have always been one of those things that I have wanted to have, wanted to be part of, wanted to be able to enjoy. I cannot count the number of showers I have gone too where I am genuinely happy for my friend but leave early and cry all the way home because I never knew if I would ever have the opportunity to experience pregnancy or motherhood.

This shower, I definitely cried but not tears of sadness but tears of joy! I couldn't hold back my emotions anymore as I opened so many gifts from wonderful friends and family, knowing that they were all for my little baby! For my little baby boy!

Thank you to all who came or sent words of congratulations. Each of you mean the world to me.

The Old Becomes New

This past week I discovered this wonderful Sumo Mandarin Orange! I love oranges and I thought I knew all about them....but I was wrong. This weird shaped orange is the most delicious juicy orange you will ever eat.

I love to do DIY redos on pretty much anything. I picked up this tray at the thrift store for under a dollar.....check out my new and improved tray. I think it turned out pretty good. :)

Summer

It finally feels like summer. I think because it is always such a mild temperature here, I have a hard time recognizing what season it is. It has been pretty hot here recently (for San Diego). I think it is also starting to feel more like summer because Zac and I can actually do fun things on the weekends now! Woohoo. I have made me another bucket list of fun things to do. Especially since  Zac will  be graduating in December officially.
A few weeks ago Zac's parents were out here. It was so fun to have them visit. We went to the San Diego Zoo and explored southern California. Sorry, I don't really have any picture of us but only of the places we visited.

Balboa Island (not in San Diego, but still beautiful)

USS Midway: A retired aircraft carrier, you can take tours of it. This is definitely something on our bucket list. : )

Sunset at La Jolla Cove

Happy 4th! My dessert won the prettiest dessert award at our ward 4th of July party. :)

Fireworks at Mission Bay. If you live in San Diego it is a rule that you must watch the 4th of July fireworks over the ocean or the bay.

Blackberries

One of my favorite things about the Northwest is the berries. This time of year there is so many different kinds of delicious fruit in season. This week, Zac and I discovered a ton of wild blackberry bushes along our favorite running/bike trail. I dragged Zac along and made him pick berries with me. I am going crazy with excitement thinking of all the different things I can make with them.  Any suggestions are welcome :)

A True Seattle Experience

Can you believe it that July is almost over? I can't. This summer has flown by. The weather here has been beautiful the last little while. Now I know why people love Seattle in the summer. It isn't scorching hot and it is beautiful! A little while ago Zac and I got to go to a Mariners game. I was a little skeptical about going to a baseball game probably because I find baseball to be one of the most boring sports ever. But I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun Zac and I had. And believe it or not but the Mariners actually won! For those of you not familiar with Baseball, the Seattle Mariners are one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball.  So it was a pretty big deal.

No Seattle experience would be complete without a trip to Ivars. Ivars is a fast food Fish n' Chips chain in the Seattle area. It was okay. ( Don't tell any Seattlens, but I thought it tasted just the same as those fish fillets you buy at the grocery store). I think the highlight of this experience was eating on a flowing dock on Lake Washington.

Zac and I have about a month and a half left here and I can honestly say that I will be sad to leave. I think I have fallen in love with the Northwest. Of course, it will never replace Arizona. Arizona will always have my heart. :)
