The Best Birthday Present

Yesterday we celebrated Zac's 25th birthday! Woohoo! He is a quarter of a century old. haha. We got to go Spokane for the weekend for Zac's Cousin's wedding and another cousin's mission farewell. It is always fun to be around Zac's family. I see a whole other side of Zac when he is with his family (a good side). Zac got to celebrate his birthday twice, the lucky guy.

I made Zac a birthday sign and I tried to get him to pose with it, but as you can see he kept making goofy faces the whole time.

Look what came in the mail!!! Our diplomas!! Zac and I are officially official college graduates!

And now for your musical enjoyment...........

Guess who got a job at the YMCA?!!! I did! I am going to be a Trip/Travel camp counselor for 6th-9th graders for the summer. I get to take them to places all over Seattle. I am so excited. I couldn't have found a better job for the summer. Last week when I asked Zac what he wanted for his birthday, he told me he wanted me to find a job. I got him exactly what he wanted right on time. All in all, I think the Vidmar household is having a pretty great week.

Graduated!

Guess What?! I am finished with school!!! Zac and I graduated last week from BYU. It is the best and weirdest feeling at the same time. I have been going to school for a long time and it always felt like this day would never come. But it did! It is a very bittersweet time in my life. I am so excited to move and to experience new things but at the same time I have made some really great friends and memories at BYU. It is sad to think that we are all going our different ways. For the most part I have loved being at BYU. So many things have changed in my life since coming here four short years ago. I learned so much and can't wait to actually use my knowledge. (pending me getting a job).  And my life continues to change. Next week Zac and I will be moving to Seattle for an internship for the summer. Then in September we will move again to San Diego where Zac will be attending UCSD for graduate school in Structural Engineering. That is going to be great! Andy (Zac's little brother) is getting married this weekend to Rachel, who is awesome. I am so excited to get another great sister-in-law. In the mean time Andy has been living on our couch. He has been  such a good sport. Our apartment is a total mess with us trying to pack. I have discovered that about 85% of the stuff in our apartment is mine, Yikes! And I don't entirely trust Zac to pack my things for me. :) So it has been a little crazy trying to pack and still working full time. But it will all get done eventually. Anyways, I think I will let my pictures do the rest of the talking....

Emma (Zac's little sister) was so kind and took some graduation pictures for Zac and I. Thanks Emma!

A week or two before graduation, BYU threw a graduation party. It involved free food so of course Zac and I went. :) Vocal Point preformed and no BYU experience is complete without seeing Vocal Point.

The week before finals Zac flew out to Tennessee for a Civil Engineering competition and conference. He was on a team that built a 5 foot tower out of wood, then the tower was tested for structural stability and other engineering things like that. They competed against schools from all over the nation.  They took 5th place! Woohoo! That was also the first time Zac and I had been apart and it was awful! I never want to do that again.
Zac and I were very spoiled during graduation. Elise, Eric and Porter came down and Mom, Dad, Marc, and Michelle came up!
Zac's Mom, Paul, Andy, and Emma were all in town as well. It was so great to have so many people there to support us. We also, got to go out to eat a lot ;)
The Saturday after graduation, Zac ran the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. It was a lot more fun cheering Zac on and not running! Thanks to Elise and Eric for letting us stay at their house before the race  so we were closer.

This is my apartment right now. ....a total mess.  It is killing me! I hate messes so this has been an adjustment for me. Only one more week of this! Woohoo!

Life sure doesn't give you a break. This past week I got in a little fender bender.  Luckily it doesn't look too bad.  A few scrapes, a broke light and a bent hood. I'm just crossing my fingers we can get it fixed before we leave. My poor little car... Lesson learned: be a more cautious driver. :)

That is the past two months of my life in a nutshell. Now that I am graduated and no job yet in Seattle, I should have plenty of time to keep my blog current. Adios, Provo!
P.S. In other news.... I am now a certified ACSM Health Fitness Specialist! This means I can prescribe exercise and give nutrition advice to almost anyone! Hopefully it will help me land a job soon... :)

Why I love my life.....

Today is my birthday!!!! I am a whole 22 years old today! I have always loved my birthdays. A lot of people hate having all the attention on them for their birthday. Call me self-centered or whatever, I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!
This is Zac's lovely birthday decoration job. I have the sweetest husband in the world.
P.S. more birthday pictures to come....

I got to run the Rex Lee Run this morning. I love running. I have run it every year I have been at BYU. It is a little sad that this was the last time I get to run it. I even still have all the shirts. :)

Last weekend Zac and I went on a (27 hours in the car) road trip. We first stopped in San Diego to check out their graduate school. And I am impressed! The weather was perfect! It was so beautiful! It was like a mini spring break since BYU doesn't believe in spring break. Next stop.....St. Johns! I love going home. Nothing can beat hanging out with my family in St. Johns. We went home to say goodbye to Lindsey for 1 1/2 years. It was so fun to hang out with all of my sisters, but we did miss Marc. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

Life is so exciting right now. Each day brings something new. The biggest news is that Zac and I are moving to Seattle for the summer! I am so excited. Zac got an internship with a great Engineering firm and they will let him work right up until he goes to grad school.  Zac has also gotten into three graduate schools: UCSD, Berkeley, and Texas A&M. We are still waiting on University of Washington, BYU, and Notre Dame. I am so proud of him! He is incredibly smart and talented. I am truly the luckiest girl in the world. Our life has been greatly blessed and we can't wait to see what life has in store for us next.

P.S. 43 days until I graduate!! But who's counting ;)
