First Annual LeFevre Family Reunion!

I can't believe that my family is old enough to have our own family reunion without all the cousins, aunts and uncles! Sometimes it feels like not that long ago we were all a bunch of kids playing in the irrigation water back home...
Mom went all out and rented a cabin up Big Cottonwood canyon for four days. I was thankful that they chose to do it in Utah. :) The cabin had plenty of beds, a ping pong table, pool table and lots of space for lounging.
The best part was that our entire family was there, including future family, Dan! It was really great to see everyone and spend time catching up and just being together. It doesn't happen nearly enough.

Some of the highlights:

  • We had a double elimination ping pong tournament and thanks to Spencer for keeping everyone on track so we actually finished. Zac and Alan battled it out for the championship. Alan is now the reigning ping pong champ. I guess next time I will need to bring a trophy.
  • I had a blast sending Porter and Spencer on "missions". Basically, a really awesome scavenger hunt. They were much faster at doing them than I was at making them. Haha.
  • We hiked up to Donut Falls one day. The mountains in Utah are definitely one of my favorite things about living here.
  • Mom's family history and get to know you game. I learned some very interesting details about members of the family....
  • Drinko: I was very impressed with Michelle, Spencer, and Porter's bravery at trying some of the crazy drink mixes that they got!
  • It was also nice getting to spend more time with Dan (Lindsey's future Mr.) Although, I don't think I interrogated him enough especially if he is going to marry Lindsey. Being only 11 months apart and me being older makes me a little protective. I do have to report that I think he passed the test if he can hang out with all of us for several days and still want to marry into this family. Haha.

I don't know if my mom reads my blog or not but regardless this family reunion wouldn't have happened without all the effort and planning that she put into it. I am so grateful for a mom that makes it a priority to bring her family together even when all of our lives are going in a million different directions. I am already looking forward to the next one.

  1. Great post! I'm way behind on my blog and haven't gotten to this one yet. Hopefully soon. I agree - it was so much to be together! I'm sad I missed Drinko though!
