Post Barbie Age

Yesterday I turned 23! 23 is kind of an uneventful age. There are no real milestones associated with this age. Growing up, I never really imaged life after the age of 22. Lindsey put it well in her b-day card to me. 20 and 22 were our prime barbie ages. So I don't even have any pretend experience at this age. I am officially older than my barbies.
I had a great day. I got to spend all day with my love. He made me breakfast, dinner and my traditional green birthday cake. Sundays are turning into my favorite day of the week. :) This year I was blessed with so many wonderful cards and messages from friends and family. I have never felt so loved. So thank you for the sweet and thoughtful cards and messages. They mean the world to me.
As I get older I realize more and more that my family and friends and the relationships I have with them are more important than anything else. I have been blessed all my life with a great supportive family and wonderful friends.
Enough mushy stuff :) Zac took Saturday night off from studying to take me out to eat. One thing I love about San Diego is that it has great Mexican food! He took me to Casa Guadalajara (we remembered that it came highly recommended by Eric and Elise) and Zac and I both agree that it is worthy of their recommendation.

I feel like my cake this year looked more like a mini campfire than a birthday cake with candles. Haha. I also got spoiled rotten with great cards, lots of money $$ and great gifts.

Zac's mom made me this super cute jewelry holder. I absolutely love it! I needed something like this especially after working at Forever 21 and doubling my total amount of jewelry. :)

My birthday present from Zac was a new digital camera. Saturday was a gorgeous day, so I decided to go on a little photo safari with my new toy. San Diego sure is beautiful right now. Flowers are blooming and the grass is green and the sun is always shining.

  1. That's really funny about your barbie ages. I'm pretty sure ages never even entered Elise's and my minds when we played. If it makes you feel any better, I wish I was still 23! I remember feeling kind of old then too though. I'm glad you had a good b-day and that you got to spend some time with Zac. What a great guy to cook all day and make you that awesome cake! Good shots with your camera. Now you have something else to do while Zac is busy. I'm sure you could take endless pics in San Diego.
