My Personal Constitution

I thought I would share this with you. It is my personal constitution. It is for my Stress Management class. The concept is if you sit down and figure out what means the most to you then it will be easier to prioritize your life and reduce stress. These are things I believe and that are the most important to me. They are things I strive to do. I may not do all of them but I try each day to live up to them.

Family
I put family first.  I realize that they are the most important thing in my life. They will always be there where as material things will fade away.  I love them and tell them often.  I let my husband know he comes before work and school.  I engage in activities that will bring my family closer together. I try to hold FHE every week. I service my husband. And help him with whatever is going on in his life.  I bring the gospel into my home. I make sure we pray together and study the scriptures together. I put my family’s needs before my own.  I make sure I spend time with them and tell them often that I love them.

Love of God
I make God and His will a top priority in my life. I strive to obey all of His commandments each and every day.  I show my love for Him through serving others and by being kind. I pray every day and thank Him for the many things He has blessed me with. I study the scriptures regularly to learn more about Him.  I go to church every Sunday to worship Him and to remember the sacrifices His son made so my family and I can be together forever with Him.  I tell all I meet about His plan and His gospel.  I make sure that He is part of my life and is in my home by making my home a place where the spirit can reside.

Stand up for myself and others
I do not let someone tear another person down. I stand up for my beliefs when they are being ridiculed. I believe everyone should be able to speak their opinion without being made fun of.  I protect those who cannot defend themselves. I do not let someone slander my name or mock me.  Everyone has the right to be themselves without being laughed at.  I make sure people know where I stand on certain issues. I do not let someone persuade me to do something I know to be wrong.

Honest
I am honest in everything I do.  When I promise to do something you know it will get done.  I tell the truth even when it is hard and may cause problems for me in the future.  If I don’t know how to do something I will admit it. I believe in being honest at all times whether it be in school, work, or with my family.  I admit it when I am wrong. I am honest with myself.

Giving
I believe in giving of my time and my resources to others that are in need.  I give to those who have less then I. How could I not give when I have been so richly blessed?  I give my time to the church, my husband, family, and friends.  I give my ear to friends who need to talk. I give my hands to those who need help. I give my heart to those who need love. I give my arms to those who need a hug.  I give my soul to my Father in Heaven.
